Sticking your chopsticks in a bowl of rice is considered sacrilege for most Asians because this act symbolizes death.

Even though the Japanese use many electronic the technologies, they still have a very strong attachment to traditional values. The sport of Sumo, the dramatic style of Kabuki theatre and ancient rituals like the tea ceremony are examples of Japanese traditions that are part of life in Japan.
