SYMPATICO STRUTS ITS STUFF

On November 28, 1996, Sympatico internet service joined with NorthwesTel based in the North West Territories. With this new addition, the Sympatico service is available in every province and territory in Canada. Sympatico is a company that provides access to the internet and is the largest Canadian internet server.

The Sympatico Service started one year ago and was available in only Ontario and Quebec. Now, the service exists in every province and territory, serving over 140,000 customers! The difference between Sympatico and other internet servers is that Sympatico is designed by Canadians for Canadians. On the Sympatico website, there is actually content of interest to young Canadians.

One of the pages located on Sympatico's website is titled "Kids Do Care." It is a site designed especially for young people in Canada. On this site, youth have the chance to voice their opinions on lots of topics. It is completely interactive, so instead of just reading a lot of information, surveys and questions are available to fill out using personal opinions. Another cool addition to this site is titled "talking to an MP." Every week, a different MP answers questions that young people have sent in, and the responses are posted on the site. Wih this site, youth have the opportunity to talk about politics and give their opinions to the people who run the country.

Other interesting pages on the site include "HealthWay," which gives the chance to find out information about any medical condition, diseases, etc. You can also check out the local weather forecast, your horoscope and look up friends across the country using Canada 411, the on-line white pages!

So, there you have it. The internet is definitely a cool thing to have, and Sympatico has proven itself to be a competitor in giving us the "best of the best" in internet service!
