I'm preparing my idea ... I'm working on my idea about the network and I will send it in another time ... But I want to give like background on my idea . my idea is to make connection between the youth around the world by using all the connection methods but in one time and by using only one method .... And I want to make a plan a bout my idea and I think you will understand what I'm talking about after that because I want the network to be like alot of offices around the world connect's together among center establish in canada, and make cooperation between the offices ( the near offices ) to help theoffices in the poor country to get the informations n easy ways ... And the best way for do that in my opinion is the internet and the information in the web site then the information in the web site will deal to be agree with the country propertis ... I'm sorry if you can't undrestand my idea but I will send you the plan .... KHalid

This is my Idea... The International Youth Network I My personal idea about the network manner :- The Youth Network will be like connection and communication network, in different ways or connection methods but by using only one method contain all the other methods. Also this network will have an information center to receive the information from all sites and then the information center will send it again to all the network sites around the worldÉ II The communication method that will use in the Network :- It is possible to use a different ways or methods in the network, but if we look to the number of the communication methods that have been used in these days we will imagine the huge cost of the network, so it's better to find an optimum communication method, and that way or method will contain the other ways in it. And in my opinion the optimum way to use it in this network and it's contains all the broadcasting types (TV, Radio, Satellites), the newspapers, and all types of communications is the INTERNET or the Network Website , and that method I think takes a little pit of time, work, and money tooÉ And about the countries that haven't got an internet access or haven't got the technical that let it to use the internet, I think it is possible to make a reception and sending center for the information in another country beside that country - that hasn't got an internet access - and that country (the first one) has an internet access, then use a good way to make connection between these two countries, for example; telephone, fax, postal office , etc . So the country that has an internet access can help the other country that hasn't got internet access can send and receive the information by using a local network, and that net work should use a different connection ways but it should be possible to use in that country. And I want to give an example about that :- I know or I have some information says that the Iraq hasn't got an internet access, or it is very expensive and also you can't make an access to the internet easily. And Jordan (the country beside Iraq has an internet access and also it's easily to use the internet their, so we can make a small network or local network between Jordan and Iraq by using for example the postal offices to send the letter from Iraq to Jordan , then send that information to all the network sites, after that when Jordan receive the information (the answer of the Iraqi letters) from all sites it will send it again but to Iraq by using the local network method or the postal officesÉ.. III How can we make the Network, and the network requirements:- When we want this network to be truth we need a lot of requirements to start the network working, for example we need buildings, working centers, computers, persons, etc. So if we look to the cost of that we will find it very expensive, so because of that I'm suggesting the following things:- 1- Use the organizations and Associations buildings. I mean the organizations that sent it's members to the conference. 2- Also we can use the machines in that buildings like computers and the phone lines. ( If it possible) 3- We can make use the persons experiences whom working in that organizations. And I will give an example about that :- I'm a friend for a program called the Community Passed Rehabilitation (CBR), also I'm working with that program in our community. And that program is part of The Social Development Center in UNRWA in Zarqa camp. And that center has building, working persons, and computers. All of these things can help to make the network in a short time, also it can help to verbalizing it's working because that program situate inside the camp in the third most important city in Jordan and that make the network working easy because the youth in the country can arrive to the network situation in Jordan ÉÉ. So if we use all these things we will save money, work, and time. IIV How can we use the network to s

What I read in the newspaper I know that I'm gonna write is not an idea, but I just read it in ''The Gazette'' newspaper today and it is very good news.I thought it would be a good idea to share with everyone this information. In ''The Gazette'' of March 8 2001, here is two parts of an article written by Paul Blustein and Barton Gellman: ''Merck & Co., the pharmaceutical giant , said yesterday that it is cutting the price for its anti-AIDS drugs in developing countries to the point where it won't make a profit on sales there , and other major drug firms appear poised to follow suit amid a mounting controversy over the cost of medicine for the world's poorest AIDS victims.[...].Although even the newly slashed prices leave sophisticated medicines well beyound the means of oridnary people in poor lands, lower drug costs make it less daunting for the world's rich countries and aid agencies to organize and finance major public health initiatives to increase the availability of effective treatment.'' Also , in an other article of this very newspaper, I read that ''Columbia's largest rebel group'', the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia),''has released 62 child soldiers, allowing them to return home, and insisting they go back to school'' Isn't this such good news?!

Sioux Lookout People Travelling Some More! Hey everyone! The Sioux Lookoutians are at it again. Sarah, Jenna, Diane, Laura, Zach and Ellen, along with eight other members of their group, Voices for The Future, are travelling. We've been hard at work teaching about the issues related to war-affected children. First, we had a whole workshop for the schools in our town. We had Courtney Gossfield, Diana Ibrahim and Micheal from Student's Commission come to our town to help. Ironically enough, the day of our presentation to our high shool, we had a bomb threat and were evacuated to a nearby church and had to do the presentation there. Someone also tried to burn down the Sioux Lookout Library. Everyone still asks about Micheal. He is a Sioux Lookout legend. More importantly: Next week, we are going as PRESENTERS (as in up with the experts) to the NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON PEACEMAKING AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION, in Farifax, Virginia, Near Washington, DC. We've been fundraising for this pretty well since the wpg conference. It will consist of a play (which is REALLY good, and really moving), a talk about who our group is and what we do, and then a mural workshop like the one we did in winnipeg. We expect to be the only canadian youth thre, out of about 700 youth. I'll be sure to post about how the conference went, and, if by some wierd fluke anyone is going to this conference (doubtful, cause it aint free!) drop us a line right away. Email me at rainbow_diane@yahoo.com, or ellen Stewart at slarc@sl.lakeheadu.ca right away! We leave on tuesday, june 5th. -Diane, and all of the Sioux Lookout people from the conference!
