Eri's Big Adventure

Part 1: In groups of two to three, plan YOUR OWN travel adventure to Asia.

Imagine that for your graduation present, you were each given an return airline ticket to your Asian country of choice with up to three stopovers. Use the map and travel resources to help develop your travel itinerary.

The following questions may be helpful to guide you in your planning:

1) When do you plan to travel?
Summer holidays. During May and June.

2) How long do you plan to travel?
Two months.

3) Which countries do you want to visit?
Canada and the Unted States. Hawaii, Vanvoucer and then New York.

4) What do you want to see in these countries?
Kona Beach in Hawaii, Whistler in Vancouver and SHOPPING in New York.

5) Do you need visas?
Japanese and Swiss passport holders do not need visas for Canada and the US.

6) How much money will you need? Where will you get the money from?
Excluding air-fare, we would need approximately $12,000 per person for our two month adventure.

7) What will the weather/season be where you are going?
The end of spring-beginning of summer.

8) What will you need to pack? What should you not pack?
Swimming suits, ski outfits, casual clothes. Formal clothes for the occasional dinner out and some party clothes for the wild night out. We probably wouldn't need to bring too much since we would be doing a lot of shopping in New York.

9) How are you going to travel from place to place (planes, trains, automobiles, mountain bike,. etc.)
We would need to take the plane since we don't want to spend too much time driving across the continent and a cruise just takes too long.

10) What is your contingency plan in case of emergencies?
Before we leave for the trip, we would all have to buy accident and travel insurance. We would also have to place an emergency evacuation service on retainer in case one of us had a serious illness.

11) Will you need shots, malaria pills, etc.
Other than the usual vaccinations, we would not be travelling into mosquito infested territories so addition shots wouldn't be necessary.
