Education is the key to breaking down barriers that exist between people. As a result of educating others, we can change ignorance into understanding, and eventually eliminate stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination.When you think of youth from Asian countries or parts of Canada, do you think they are the same as you are? Do you wonder what life would be like in an Asian country? No doubt it would be different than living in Canada. You would probably hear a different language, taste different foods, and see different styles of clothing. But when you think about it, many of us who live in some of Canada's more culturally diverse communities experience these differences each day.
So, what do you think youth living in Asia may do to share the information they've gathered from a conference like Asia Connects ? If you weren't familiar with it before, you've probably heard of it by now. The INTERNET is one of the fastest and most popular communication devices available today. Within a matter of minutes you can tell someone millions of miles away what's on your mind. Asian youth are probably waiting to connect with other young people like you. In fact, in India, there's a popular magazine with a specific youth section entitled "JAM" . It's one of the many publications on the web which target youth. Try searching the internet under the topic "Youth Action" or "Asia-Pacific". How many matches are found?
