The Saskatoon Youth Team...

Maureen Scherman

EMail: Maureen_Sherman@scilink.org

Maureen is from Saskatoon, the city of bridges. She enjoys spending her spare time sitting on sofas, as you can gather from her picture. Unfortunately, spare time and sofa-sitting is not a frequent occurrence. Instead, she spends her time practising piano, singing with her choir, and hanging out with Kirsten and Megan in order to make Asia Connects Saskatchewan a huge success. She also enjoys water-skiing and going on canoe trips in the summer in northern Saskatchewan. Maureen lived for one year as an exchange student in Austria and learned to speak German..."einen schoenen Tag wuensch ich dir!"

Megan Martin

EMail: Megan_Martin@scilink.org

Megan is a Student Commissioner from way back in the 80's when she first attended a Student Commission conference. Today, she is a vibrant and active member of W.U.S.C. (World University Service of Canada). Megan has very little time on her hands! Her volunteer work in many areas has been keeping her out of trouble for years now.

All kidding aside, Megan brings a truckload of experience in international affairs and conference organizing to Asia Connects. She is also a writer so maybe we will see some articles, press releases and messages from her.

Kirsten M. Loy

Update:
Kirsten has moved on from TG Magazine to pursue her career.
Hello everyone! My name is Kirsten and I am from the sunniest province of Saskatchewan! I am 23 years old, and I love to keep busy. In the summertime I spend most of my time as a camp counsellor. Northern Saskatchewan is full of trees and lakes (over 100 000 of them) and I love to be up there. For the rest of the year I work with a drug prevention youth team, and this year we travelled to Atlanta for an international conference. I love travelling, and hope to have the opportunity to see more of the world. (My goal is to celebrate a birthday on every continent)! I have spent lots of time lately with Maureen and Megan, (and I think we spend more time laughing and having fun than we do planning the conference) and we hope to have a rockin' conference out here. I hope to get the chance to meet all of you over the 'net in the next few weeks! Take care!
