S-W-E-E-T! Summer is finally here, school's out and teens have two months of summer fun to look forward to. For those looking to shake-up their summer, HMV is running a contest giving teens the schange to win one of six "Sweet Summer Gigs"--a paid summer job with HMV for a behind-the-scenes look at the music industry. Winning teens will be the envy of their friends by becoming the ultimate music guru. They'll have the opportunity to work with HMV at one of Canada's coolest record stores or at the company's head office in Toronto. In addition to learning what it's like to work in a music store or online at HMV.com, the winning teens might also get the chance to hang backstage and check out some of the coolest concerts this summer. How does it work? Interested teens over the age of 16 can visit any HMV store and pick up a mail-in postcard or log on to www. HMV.com to enter the contest for their chance to win. The contest runs from now until July 2, 2000. Sound easy? You bet it is. In addition to filling out the essentials, entrants must state why they want to win, in 25 words or less. All entrants must be eligible for employment based on HMV criteria and legal qualifications. On July 3, 2000, six entries will be selcted in a random draw: two from the Western provinces, two from Ontario and two from Quebec/Maritimes and contacted by telephone to see if they qualify for the prize. Interested entrants must reside in a market where there is an HMV location and the contest is open to residents of Canada only.
