I know that we have been talking about telling Oprah what we do for a while...so I was checking out her website and saw that she is doing a show on chains of kindness in your community...I emailed the following to her....lets keep our fingers crossed. `Create A Chain Of Kindness In Your Community And Tell Us About It! We have done better! We are going beyond the borders your town, city and province, to create a country that shares. I work for a national youth organization that empowers youth called The Students Commission. We have dedicated three years to begin to deal with child poverty. The project is called Sharing Resources 2000. Our goal is by the year 2000 to have 2000 youth involved in 2000 community projects which will be .007% of the Canadian population. We are achieving this by running a series of national workshops and then creating a national network where we support each other. Youth have created awareness, started breakfast clubs, after school groups, homework clubs.....the list goes on. We are the youth of this country, our time to take over is not tomorrow...it is TODAY!
