Hi my name is Michael Pike and I am from Bay Roberts, NF. I am one of eight people chosen to work on the TG Archives Project posting older issues of TG Magazine on the World Wide Web.

Heading into the new millennium causes me to think about not only the future, but also the past. Reading through the magazines, I noticed the drastic changes in technology that affect all our lives. Many people would refer to the past as "the good old days," which is true to a certain extent. There were fewer deadly diseases, such as AIDS, or cancer. Today, however, these diseases are both at the top of the list for causes of death. Sad to say , but true. There are also many unresolved issues brought from the past such as drinking and driving; underage drinking, smoking, sex, drugs, war, mental and physical abuse, and the list continues.

This brings me to the future. What is to be expected as we progress into, and through the new millennium? What will become of these issues? Will they resolve on their own, or will we have to struggle with them ourselves? What will become of technology??? Will it become better, or will it stay the same? Will a giant meteorite crash into the earth's crust and result in a global catastrophe, just like the extinction of the dinosaurs? This brings me to the unanswered questions.

What is out there in space? Just space, or is there life on other planets? Are there really other universes or just ours? Is there really such thing as reincarnation or does life just end? Will scientists find a cure for diseases, or will these diseases just continue to kill people? What will happen to time? Will it continue forever, or just end?

Whatever is to come in the new millennium, I feel it is in our hands. Whatever we want to know, I believe, we can work to discover.
