AARON MARSAW: SEEING WITHOUT EYES
In today's society, we tend to judge others by the way they look,
act, walk, and talk. If one has the slightest disability, we tend to
treat him totally differently from others.
Aaron Marsaw, blind since the age of twelve, has accomplished more
than any seeing person could dream of!!! According to Aaron, the
hardest part of adjusting to his blindness was asking for help.
Although, as the years went on, he overcame all obstacles. He
obtained his bronze medallion in lifeguarding; he's travelled to
Africa to study the blind and their culture in general. He is also
head of a bilingual club in Sudbury. Aaron is very active in the
blind community. He speaks to blind people to help them adjust; he
shares the knowledge he's gained and answers questions.
Aaron studies political science at Laurentian University. Due to his
amazing efforts and accomplishments, Aaron won the Rhodes
Scholarship, which includes a four year paid trip to England to study
at Oxford University. To win the Rhodes Scholarship, you must have
great determination academically and socially.
Aaron's attitude is the perfect example of how anyone, disabled or
able-bodied, can achieve any goal.
