A Bird's Eye View

By Nihal Sherif

Did you ever wonder what the inside of the United Nations General Assembly Plenary Room looks like? You're probably asking yourself, why should I care. But, you don't have to be a UN process-geek to realize that something really neat is happening when you can get over 182 countries in the same room talking about the environment.

So here's the scoop...The UNGA Plenary Room actually looks like a big egg. Basically, you feel like you're sitting in the nosebleed section in a giant Omnimax theatre squinting your eyes so that you can see all of the important people read their ready-made speeches. They're all talking about conventions, action plans, etc. and using lots of big words that end with "ment".

If you get bored, you can take inspiration from the Canadian comedy troupe, Kids In the Hall, and use your thumb and index finger to crush the heads of those around you. For the more daring, you can actually crush the bodies of people like US President Bill Clinton and Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. With your fingers, of course!!
