YOUTH CAUCUS PRESENTATION

Encouraging governments and business to invest in sustainability

Recommendations:

Coordinate youth to provide them with strong voices that will be taken into account in policy making processes, and enable youth participation and involvement in policy making in concert with the government and private sectors.

Give individuals, companies, and businesses incentives/awards if they are environmentally conscious. An example is Green Money, a monetary reward for sustainable practice. This Green Money can come to or from businesses, government and individuals.

Encourage individuals to voice their concerns by establishing communication ties among individuals, governments and businesses.

Promote mutual benefits through interactive education and experiential learning. This will help develop and empower grassroots organizations so that they may achiecve local action within a global framework.

 

Plan of Action:

Combine traditional environmental knowledge with western science

Understand and respect the environment before we can have sustainable development.

Spend several days experiencing how to live friendly with nature.

Consider initiating something similar or supporting and expanding them.
