Letters to the Editor...

Writing letters, talking and communicating our ideas and concerns are essential steps in learning. Then, we can make an impact. So read what Spruceglen students wrote to let you know why caring about our world is important, and what we can do about it....

"...I feel that we need to preserve our earth because we live on it and we breathe the air and swim in the water. Whatever we do to the earth, we do to ourselves. It all comes back to us in some form or another. If we pollute the water, it comes back in our drinking water; if we pollute the air, it comes back in our breathing air...we're part of a circle, and we can't deny it."
Chris Mcknight, Age 15

"Before I became involved in Rescue Mission, I had no idea about the horrible disasters and poverty in the world...I was astounded by all of the ghastly figures and facts. It is important to me to preserve the environment because this is the world I will have to grow up and live in. I want my children and my children's children, to be able to enjoy the beauty of the rainforests, the sea otter and the Leather-Back turtle. How would you feel growing up in a dying world?"
Jessica Long, Age 12

"
The world we live in is going to be gone if we don't get involved! I think we should get involved because we live in it, and if it dies, we die. Like Nike says "Just do It!"
Melissa Wyville, Age 12

"
The younger generation will have to clean up the mistakes the older generation has made. We should be working to keep our Earth clean. I would say hold your head high and don't let people count you out. Show everyone what you can do!"

David Bestwick, 14 years old
