MODULE 4 - Evaluation and Check-Out
(Duration: 30 minutes)

Activity: Evaluation (15 minutes)

Objectives

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of the workshop (the process)

Materials:

Instructions:

  1. Give a brief explanation of the survey and why we are evaluating the workshop. We are evaluating to see if you learned anything from the workshop and to see if the workshop itself felt good for you.
  2. Let people know that they don't have to answer every single question but that their answers will be very helpful for future workshops.
  3. Let people know that we will be sharing the results with them. Circulate a contact sheet.
  4. Inform people that if they are interested in taking further action on issues or want to be connected with the Students Commission. They can attend our weekly "SC Thursday Night Meetings" at 23 Isabella Street. Dinner and volunteer hours available.

Activity: Check-out (15 minutes)

Materials:

  • Speakers
  • Respect audio

Instructions:

  1. Share with participants that: "by being a part of this workshop: change has already happened, you're going to start thinking about things differently which means you're already a part of change." If you'd like to take more action on these issues join us every Thursday night at the Students Commission at 23 Isabella Street, 4:00-8:00 p.m.
  2. Begin playing the audio of the "Respect" song from the This is Canada conference.
  3. Ask participants to stand in a circle and share one word to describe their experience during the workshop.
  4. Record each word.
  5. Read back the words to participants. If the words are negative…then...
