Karen is 14 years old and was born in St. John's Newfoundland. She is currently in grade 9. Karen has been volunteering with the Youth Volunteer Corps of St. John's since the summer of 1997. She has participated in many volunteer projects including the Coats for Kids program for the Canadian Red Cross and helping the Diabetes Association do an inventory of their campaign items. She finds volunteering fun because she gets to do things that she has never done before.
