it to Heart
Between February 12 and
19, people throughout this country will have the chance
to show how they "take Canada to heart." It's all part of
Canadians coming together to recognize and celebrate National
Citizenship Week, the anniversary of the Canadian flag (February
15), and Heritage Day (February 19). Encourage your students and
other teachers to "turn on" to this special week.
Your students can profile their own community in a national
celebration of our Canadian identity, heritage and citizenship.
Resources, activity suggestions, a guide for citizenship
reaffirmation ceremonies, and articles on what other schools have
discovered in their community will be posted in weekly updates on
the Internet. Share with others what you and your students choose
to celebrate in your community. We'll help your students publish
their discoveries on the Internet at our World Wide Web site.
