Program Format

1. A group of experts is being assembled on each topic. They will present key ideas and concepts for youth to examine and discuss. These panel presentations will be presented both live, by videoconference and on the web. Background supporting information will be available on the web.

2. After each presentation, teams of 10-15 youth at each site will discuss, create recommendations and one learning activity to capture what they have learned. Speakers, panelists and experts will be available for questions on the web and by videoconference.

3. Each team will upload its recommendations and learning activities after each discussion and a youth team at the central site will co-ordinate its development into a central learning resource for all participants and observers.

4. Sites will be encouraged to interact with each other and learn about each other, to create a "global" team feeling. Several "virtual" teams will be created from each site and will meet and do all of their discussion electronically. Point to point videoconferencing, electronic games, e-mail buddies and other fun activities are designed to encourage personal interaction and connection at the relationship level as well as the cognitive.
