Panel 1: Overview of Asia

  • Panel model:
  • speakers' bios and lectures on the interent
  • web chat with other sites and speakers
  • creation of learning activity based on panel discussion that will be posted on the web site
  • MULTISITE VIDEOCONFERENCE - Official Opening Ceremonies with Winnipeg and multisites
  • Q & A session
  • multimedia presentation

Day 4: Tuesday September 30, 1997
Panel 2: Making Asia a Part of Your Life: Personal Stories
Panel 3:
Asian & Western Values

Connecting with Asia Pacific in Your Community.

  • Trip Day: - visit local businesses and organizations
  • Revision of learning activities from Panel 1,2 &3
  • create web pages for learning activities

Day 6: Thursday October 2, 1997
Behind the Headlines.

Environment, Trade & Human Rights

  • follow model for Panel 4 &5
  • evaluate learning activities of other sites, comments delivered via e-mail

Day 7: Friday October 3,1997
Cross Cultural Communications: Concrete How-to's.

  • follow model for Panel 6
  • Revision of learning activities from Panel 4,5&6
  • create web pages for learning activities
  • Web Chat (Evening: Youth Action Forum West)

Day 8: Saturday October 4,1997
Your future in the Global Economy.

  • Web Chat (Evening: Youth Action Forum East)
  • MULTISITE VIDEOCONFERENCE - Official Closing Ceremonies with Winnipeg and multisites
  • 3-5 min. presentation from each site
  • Round Table Discussions on the Web with invited guests
